FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask before trying BidCrafter. Something missing? Ask support — a human answers within a business day.

Is BidCrafter safe to use with my Upwork account?
BidCrafter submits proposals through your own authenticated browser session via the Chrome extension — the same way you'd submit manually. There's no server-side bot logging into your account, and we never ask for your Upwork password. You control daily limits and score thresholds, so activity stays at human scale.
Will AI-written proposals sound generic?
Generic AI proposals come from generic inputs. BidCrafter drafts from your writing samples, your past winning proposals, and the full job post — so the output matches your tone and references the client's actual project. You can always edit before anything is sent.
How does the 0–100 job score work?
Each job is rated across four dimensions: how well your skills match, the budget's quality for the scope, the client's history and payment signals, and the competition level. The combined score maps to an Apply, Maybe, or Skip verdict so you spend Connects only where you have a real shot.
Do I have to enable auto-bidding?
No. Many users run BidCrafter in review mode: jobs get scored and proposals get drafted, and you approve each one from a notification link. Auto-bid is opt-in per campaign, with a score threshold and daily cap you set.
What does the free plan include?
15 proposals per month, AI job scoring, the Chrome extension, and Slack alerts. No credit card required. Paid plans add campaign automation, auto-bid, pipeline CRM, analytics, and higher proposal quotas.
Does BidCrafter work outside of Upwork?
Not yet — BidCrafter is built specifically for Upwork's job feed, Connects system, and proposal flow. Deep platform focus is what makes the scoring and automation accurate.
Can I use multiple writing voices?
Yes. Personas let you keep separate voice profiles — for example one for web development work and one for consulting — each trained on its own writing samples, with one set as your default.
How is BidCrafter cheaper than other auto-bidders?
Established Upwork auto-bidding tools typically charge $100+ per month. BidCrafter's paid plans start at a fraction of that — roughly 5× cheaper for the same core loop of scoring, drafting, and submitting.
What happens when a job has screening questions?
BidCrafter drafts answers to the screening questions in your voice along with the proposal, so you're not stopped mid-submission by a required field.
How do I cancel?
From the billing page, anytime. Billing is handled by Paddle as merchant of record; plans are monthly with no long-term contract. See our refund policy for details.
